5 Steps You Must Take to Conquer Your Pain
1. Acknowledge physical and mental contributors to your pain.
- Be comfortable with the idea of multiple things being true at once!
2. Take yourself out of the “fight or flight” state
- Breathe, orient yourself to the world around you, and be nice to yourself!
3. Continue playing as appropriate.
- Time and natural history are your friends, but complete rest is not helpful.
4. Do your best to get quality sleep and fuel your body with food.
- Give your body the best chance at healing itself!
5. View pain as information, not a setback.
- If and when pain comes back, learn from it. Pain does not necessarily mean regression or damage.
